Fine Bubble Air Diffusers
Fine bubble air diffusers are used for applications such as the bioreactor of an activated sludge plant, were optimum oxygen transfer efficiency is the primary goal. Fine bubble is also a good choice for post aeration applications and oxygen limited aerobic digestion applications (membrane type only). Fine bubble diffusers typically provide twice the oxygen transfer efficiency when compared to coarse bubble.

Coarse Bubble Air Diffusers
Coarse bubble diffusers are typically used in applications where good mixing is the primary goal, but can be used anywhere where diffused aeration is required. Applications range from grit removal basins to mixed liquor and sludge distribution channels, to sludge holding and aerobic digestion basins. Coarse bubble diffusers usually require less maintenance than fine bubble which makes them a good choice where the potential for airside fouling or chemical attack exist.
