For commercial and industrial applications that require a higher quality nominal rated filter, we offer our FCDP, FCPP and FCNT filter lines. FCPP and FCDP are high efficiency nominal filters that meet the USP Class VI Biological Tests for Plastics making them ideal for use in the food and beverage industry. The FCPP filter is a pleated polypropylene filter and the FCDP filter is a melt blown polypropylene depth filter. Both the FCDP and FCPP filter are constructed from materials listed with the FDA for contact with food and beverages and have silicone o-rings and gaskets. The FCNT series of melt blown polypropylene filters are constructed using a patented process of incorporating larger and smaller diameter fibers that delivers exceptional mechanical strength and on-stream life. FCNT filters have a graded pore structure that provides high contaminant holding capacity.

If your company is operating a life science or pharmaceutical process that requires a non-validated and non-validatable absolute rated filter, Siemens offers it's FCNA and FCNT series of quality filter cartridges. The FCNA is an absolute rated polypropylene depth filter cartridge with ratings from .5 micron up to 70 micron. The FCNA filter is a melt blown filter made of 100% pure polypropylene and is free of surfactants, binders or adhesives. The FCWN series is a filter composed of a pleated highly asymmetric polysulfone membrane over a non-woven polypropylene support layer. This is our most popular line of absolute rated filters because of the exceptionally low pressure drops and long on-stream life. FCWN filters are designed for postfiltration in high purity water applications and are factory rinsed in DI water for quick on-stream rinse up. The FCDI series of filters are composed of a validatable, hydrophilic PVDF membrane surface that is factory rinsed with DI water to ensure no downstream contamination. The PVDF membrane surface can be sanitized with chlorine, hydrogen peroxide or steam. Every FCDI filter is factory integrity tested to verify absolute sub-micron particle retention.

For processes that require in-field validation of cartridge filters, Siemens offers the FCWE, FCDI and FCUF series of filters. The FCWE series of filters is similar to the FCWN series in that is it comprised of a asymmetric polysulfone membrane over a non-woven polypropyelene support layer, but the FCWE filter membrane is actually made up from two layers of polysulfone so that it can be integrity tested. FCWE absolute rated filters offer superior bacteria and particle removal for high efficiency postfiltration of critical high purity water applications. FCDI series filters are composed of a validatable, hydrophilic PVDF membrane with two layers of polypropylene support media. Factory rinsing with DI water means a quick rinse up with no downstream contamination and the PVDF membrane is sanitizable using chlorine, hydrogen peroxide or steam. All FCDI filters are factory integrity tested to verify absolute sub-micron particle retention. FCUF series cartridge filters are most commonly used for dialysis applications as their micron rating goes as low as .05 micron making them excellent filters for removing bacteria, particles and pyrogens. FCUF filters are composed of validatable hollow filber polysulfone media with polypropylene hardware.

Customers who require validated filters as a part of their critical biotech or pharmaceutical process should use Siemens' FCPV or FCVH series filters. The FCPV is a absolute rated .2 micron pleated hydrophilic PVDF membrane filter over a non-woven polypropylene support layer. FCPV filters can be sterilized by autoclaving and a validation certificate is available to support bacterial challenge results. The FCVH series of filters is a pleated PES (polyethersulphone) membrane over a non-woven polyester support layer. FCVH filters are absolute rated and validated using the HIMA bacterial challenge test method.
