Total-Check™ 900 TOC monitor
To provide TOTAL quality assurance, many of the PURELAB® Ultra water purification systems are designed with a built-in TOC monitors to ensure the end user accurate levels of TOC from the water produced. SIEMENS now offers an alternative solution to scientists who wish to measure the TOC level in high purity water delivered from systems which do not feature a built-in TOC monitor. The standalone TOTAL-CHECK™ 900 TOC monitor can be connected to just about any high purity water laboratory system in order to provide a complete and accurate measurement of the TOC levels in the product water. This TOC Monitor can accurately measure TOC levels form 1 to 999 ppb in ultra pure water at an hourly flow rate of up to 200L/hour.
Total Water Purity
Levels of ion concentration within ultra pure are accurately measured and displayed as resistivity. Resistivity alone gives no indication of the dissolved organic compound that may be present in ultra pure water. Water with a baseline level of resistivity (18.2 Megohm @ 25¨¬C) has very low inorganic levels, yet organic levels may still continue to be high. It is essential to monitor organic impurities in order for scientists and students to have an absolute picture of the quality of high purity water produced by there water polishing system. Critical laboratory experiments will be affected by relatively low levels (<50ppb) of total organic carbons (TOC) that are present in there ultra pure water.
Why have a TOC monitor?
For example, a low TOC level in high purity water used in chromatography applications can demean the baseline quality which reduces the sensitivity of the study being performed. Having higher levels of TOC present will foul the column beads not allowing a high-quality mass transfer between the beads and the mobile phase. The inconsistent presence of the an uncertain level of organic substances in ultrapure water will also affect the results of experiments such as HPLC, cell culture, and ICP-MS. These examples prove that monitoring the levels of TOC in high purity water is important for many laboratories.
Why is a TOC monitor selection important?
The TOTAL-CHECK™ 900 TOC monitor can be connected to most high purity water laboratory system, which makes this monitor a valuable option for many lab that are expanding into more experiments where TOC must be measured. The following systems are provided with and\or without built in TOC monitors. Users of these systems may require TOC monitoring.
