Big Blue™ carbon cartridge filters are used to improve water taste and odor as well as remove chlorine and VOC's. Big Blue™ size water filters are 4-1/2" in diameter and either 9-3/4" in length (for 10" housings) or 20" long (for 20" housings).
- C Series and NCP Series cartridge filters composed of carbon impregnated cellulose (non-cellulose for NCP series) offer both particulate filtration as well as taste, odor and chlorine reduction at a economical price, but have limited capacity (gallons of water treated).
- GAC Series, CC Series, RGC Series and CGAC Series GAC (granular activated carbon) cartridge filters provide taste, odor and chlorine reduction and moderate capacity but with generally lesser particulate reduction.
- EP Series, EPM Series, CBCC, CBR2, CEP Series and CBC Series carbon briquette filters offer the highest capacity (more time between filter exchanges) and varying levels of particulate filtering, but are the most expensive.
Sediment filtration prior to carbon filtration is recommended on high turbidity (high total suspended solids) feedwaters. See individual products for more information.
