Pressure Boosting and Water Recirculation
Normal residential water pressure averages between 20 and 50 psi for 6 to 20 GPM. Plumbing, distance and height to fixtures as well as filtration of any kind all reduce water pressure at the point of use. Water pressure boosting pumps can boost your water pressure up to 65psi for increased water pressure and flow to household fixtures. We carry quality Grundfos domestic water supply pumps for the purpose of residential and light commerical pressure boosting. These self-priming Grundfos pumps have a built in pressure tank to prevent excessive pump cycling as well as dry run protection. These pumps are approved for drinking water and can pull well water from a maximum depth of 25 feet. Be careful in choosing the correct pump as excessive water pressure can damage your plumbing. Residential water pressure should not exceed 80psi. The maximum height from the pump to the highest fixture in the house should not exceed 50 feet (or the pump may not start).
